La Mode Chic

When Pearls and Queens saw the poster we just knew we had to go the word “dignity” on the poster just grabbed our attention.

The first talk was given by Mrs Therese Orji - a lawyer who loves fashion and gives seminars on fashion and style.  It was titled “dressing with dignity”.  she asked “does personal opinion, belief, faith or any guiding principle define good dressing?” , everyone had a chance to say what they thought and the conclusion was that no matter what your personal opinion is or what your belief is, what you wear is a reflection of who you are and how you view yourself as a person. She also made it clear that dressing has a motive whether it is intentional or not. She said

 “what you wear sends a message so be sure it is the message you want to send”

The next talk was on “appropriate clothes for different occasions” the talk was given by Miss Mary Ekemezie a lawyer who is a modesty activist, she made it clear that there are clothes that are actually more appropriate than others for different occasions, depending on the style and colour but women should avoid falling into the danger of showing sensitive skin like cleavage, upper arms, belly, thighs, which she says are offensive to anybody irrespective of your religion or personal beliefs. Clothes however should ;
·        enhance beauty
·        cover up
·        fit properly
·         be the right colour
·         fit the occasion

next we had models wearing clothes for different categories and we could see colours, how to match them and different materials.

Here we have some of the photos from the event, enjoy!
